Report Title:                     Delete one Management Analyst and Appoint EE#89698 to Senior Management Analyst - Exempt in the Office of the County Administrator

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26821 to cancel one (1) Management Analyst (ADVB) (unrepresented) position (#3819), add one (1) position and appoint its incumbent Employee ID 89698 to the Senior Management Analyst - Exempt (ADT3) (unrepresented) position and abolish the Management Analyst (ADVB) (unrepresented) classification in the Office of the County Administrator.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The annual cost of this action is approximately $5,981 including $901 in pension costs.

BACKGROUND:

The incumbent is assigned to the Health and Human Services division of the County Administrator’s Office with over three years of experience.  The employee has assumed progressively responsible, professional experience qualifying them for the Senior Management Analyst position.  Based on the duties and responsibilities assigned to the employee as well as the years of service, it is appropriate to appoint the employee to Senior Management Analyst.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If not approved, the employee will be performing higher level duties without appropriate classification and compensation.  Additionally, it will make it difficult to retain qualified employees.
