Report Title: Contract for 4-H Youth Community Education

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Agricultural Commissioner, or designee, to execute a contract with the Regents of the University of California in an amount not to exceed $31,702 for 4-H Youth Community Education services for the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Costs for the contract are budgeted in the Agriculture Department's FY25-26 budget. 100% General Fund.
BACKGROUND:
Under the general direction of the Agricultural Commissioner, the contractor shall coordinate the 4-H Youth development program. Local community volunteer residents trained by the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE). This agreement has a mutual indemnification provision which provides that each party will defend and indemnify the other for injuries or losses arising out of the performance of the agreement.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to approve this request will result in the loss of efficiency in the 4-H Youth development education.
