RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract Amendment Agreement #24-928-38 with Fred Finch Youth Center, a non-profit corporation, effective June 1, 2024, to amend Contract #24-928-37, to decrease the payment limit by $30,419, from $3,041,859 to a new payment limit of $3,011,440, with no change in the term of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this amendment will result in budgeted expenditures of up to $3,011,440 and will be funded by 57% Federal Medi-Cal and 43% Mental Health Services Act revenues. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
This contract meets the social needs of County's population by providing school and community based mental health services, including assessments, individual, group and family therapy, medication support, case management, outreach, Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) and crisis intervention services for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) middle and high school aged children and their families.
On June 27, 2023, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-928-37 with Fred Finch Youth Center, in an amount not to exceed $3,041,859, for the provision of school-based mental health services and a multi-dimensional family treatment program for SED students and their families, for the period July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-928-38 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2024. The Mount Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD) funding was removed from this contract and moved into another contract in order to provide services for non-Medi-Cal clients, causing a decrease in the payment limit.
