RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Fire Chief, or designee, to execute a Contract with Nevada ByProducts, Inc. dba Rynocare Medical Waste Disposal ("Rynocare") for Hazardous Waste, Medical Waste, and Controlled Substance Disposal Services, through a two-year subscription package, in an amount not to exceed $5,000, for the term of September 1, 2026, through August 30, 2028.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this recommendation will result in approximately $22,000 in annual savings by transitioning from the current service provider to Rynocare. Funding is available within the District's General Fund operating budget.

BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa County Fire Protection District is a full-service, all-risk fire district that operates with a highly trained team of more than 670 firefighters and professional staff, responding from 35 strategically placed fire stations across 582 square miles.

Operating 41 full-time Advanced Life Support (ALS) engine and truck companies. Each company is staffed by certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and at least one licensed Paramedic (PM), ensuring rapid and effective advanced medical care on every call.

The District's Emergency Medical Services Division manages the purchasing, distribution, and maintenance of all EMS-related equipment and medical supplies to ensure crews are ready for any emergency.
