Report Title:                     Add one (1) Information Systems Manager Position, Cancel one (1) IT Customer Operations Manager

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26290 to add one (1) full-time Information Systems Manager I (LTNA) (represented) position at salary plan and grade ZA5 1884 ($9,648.44 - 12,929.84) and cancel one (1) vacant full-time IT Customer Operations Manager (LKGA) (represented), position number 18828, at salary plan and grade ZA5 1737 ($8,341.53 - $11,178.45) in the Department of Information Technology.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in an estimated increase of $31,997, and it is funded by user departments. 100% User Departments.

BACKGROUND:

The Department of Information Technology has an unexpected vacancy for an IT Customer Operations Manager, which was not accounted for in the FY 24/25 budget. Given that this is a single-position classification, the Department seeks to transition to a more universal title used throughout the County.

The Information Systems Manager I position is widely utilized across both DoIT and the County. The requested position will oversee the Customer Care and Operations Teams. The teams’ primary functions are the county-wide helpdesk and assistance with mainframe operations. Adopting the Information Systems Manager I title aligns more effectively with the Department's organizational structure.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If unapproved, the single-position classification will remain in DoIT.
