RECOMMENDATIONS:
RESCIND prior Board action (24-3822) from November 12, 2024, which approved and authorized the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with AT&T
Corp., effective November 1, 2024, to increase the payment limit by $1,150,000 to a new payment limit not to exceed $2,700,000 for onsite network engineering services, and to extend the term from December 31, 2024 to December 31, 2027; and

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with AT&T Corp., effective November 1, 2024, to increase the payment limit by $1,150,000 to a new payment limit not to exceed $2,700,000 for onsite network engineering services, and to extend the term from December 31, 2024 to December 31, 2026.


FISCAL IMPACT:
The total cost of the contract is $2,700,000. Approval of this request will result in up to $1,150,000 increased contractual service expenditures over a 2-year period and will be funded 100% by the General Fund.


BACKGROUND:
The Office of the Sheriff has contracted with AT&T Corp. for onsite technical engineer support since January 2021. AT&T engineer support services are necessary to provide knowledge to support the full implementation of AT&T products such as, the Sheriff's Office various computer and communications networks, CAD system, records management system, and biometrics systems. These systems serve the Sheriff's Office and client agencies of Danville, Richmond, Moraga, Brentwood, and Pittsburg, as well as shares Networks with other agencies and various County departments (i.e., Alameda County, DoIT, CAO). AT&T services include troubleshooting complex issues, County and department projects rollout, and maintenance of outdated software and hardware network equipment.
