Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

 

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Sheriff-Coroner, a purchase order amendment with LexisNexis Solutions FL Inc. to increase the payment limit by $32,716 to a new payment limit of $62,716, and to extend the term end date from November 30, 2025 to November 30, 2026, for research and investigative tools used by the Sheriff’s Office Civil Unit.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this request will result in up to $32,716 in additional contractual service expenditures over a 2-year period and will be funded 100% by the General Fund.

 

 

BACKGROUND:

LexisNexis Solutions FL Inc. provides unlimited use of Accurint Virtual Crime Center, Jail Booking Search, Accurint Crime Analysis, Accurint for Law Enforcement Plus, and Accurint for Law Enforcement. These research and data tools are essential components for the Office of the Sheriff Civil Unit.

 

The Terms and Conditions include a limitation of liability provision and indemnification from the County to the contractor.

 

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the Board does not approve, the Office of the Sheriff Civil Unit will be unable to access essential records online that pertain to legal, criminal and civil information.
