RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Cancellation Agreement #74-628-3 with The Alliance for Community Wellness (dba La Familia), a non-profit corporation, effective at the end of business on March 30, 2024.

FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract was funded 100% by Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant revenues.

BACKGROUND:
The County has been contracting with The Alliance for Community Wellness (dba La Familia) since February 2021 to provide perinatal substance use disorder outreach and engagement services, including screening, brief intervention and referrals to treatments services for women with children in Contra Costa County.

On July 18, 2023, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-628-3 with The Alliance for Community Wellness (dba La Familia), in an amount not to exceed $317,252 to provide perinatal substance use disorder outreach and engagement services, including screening, brief intervention and referrals to treatments services for women with children in Contra Costa County, for the period from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

In accordance with General Conditions Paragraph 5 (Termination), of the Contract, the Department and Contractor have agreed to a mutual cancellation of this Contract. Approval of Cancellation Agreement #74-628-3 will accomplish this termination.

This cancellation is retro due to the Department and Contractor agreeing to mutually terminate in an untimely manner, therefore a retroactive cancellation is necessary to terminate properly.
