RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Resolution approving and authorizing the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close Third Avenue, between Lillian Street and Flora Street, and a portion of Third Avenue, between Ceres Street and Pomona Street, on May 25, 2026, through May 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m., for the purpose of geotechnical soil sampling, Crockett area. (District V)

FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:
Due to the narrow road width of Third Avenue at the sampling locations, BSK Associates has requested the road closure to complete the soil borings. The roadway does not provide sufficient space to setup and operate drilling equipment while maintaining through traffic. This geotechnical work is being performed on behalf of the County for future road improvement projects at these locations. Applicant shall follow guidelines set forth by the Public Works Department.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Applicant will be unable to close the road to complete planned geotechnical soil sampling.
