Report Title: Final Settlement of Claim, Marc Weber vs. Contra Costa County

RECOMMENDATIONS:
RECEIVE this report concerning the final settlement of Marc Weber and AUTHORIZE payment from the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund in an amount not to exceed $275,000, less permanent disability advances.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund payment of $275,000.
BACKGROUND:
Attorney Leslie A. Leyton, defense counsel for the County, has advised the County Administrator that within authorization an agreement has been reached settling the workers' compensation claim of Marc Weber vs. Contra Costa County. The Board's April 27, 2026 closed session vote was: Supervisors Gioia, Andersen, Burgis, Carlson and Scales-Preston - Yes. This action is taken so that the terms of this final settlement and the earlier April 27, 2026 closed session vote of this Board authorizing its negotiated settlement are known publicly.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Case will not be settled.
