RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Child Support Services Director, a purchase order with General Datatech, Limited Partnership, an authorized re-seller, in an amount not to exceed $17,560, to procure backup appliance and support from Rubrik, Inc., subject to the terms and conditions of Rubrik, Inc.’s End User License Agreement, for the period June 21, 2025 through June 20, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$17,559.20: 66% Federal, 34% State; all of which is budgeted in FY 25/26.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Child Support Services Department (DCSS) is seeking to renew its license and maintenance agreement for its Rubrik backup appliance from General Data Tech Limited Partnership (GDT), who is the reseller. Rubrik, Inc.’s Service Agreement includes an indemnification provision from the County to Rubrik and a limitation of liability that caps liability at the amount of fees paid in the 12 months prior to any claim arising. This vendor was selected per procurement requirements outlined in Administrative Bulletin 600.3.
Rubrik was recommended as the new county standard for a server backup solution. DCSS adopted the DoIT standard for performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Department of Child Support Services will be at risk of not meeting standards for performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness. Additionally, the Rubrik products improve the County’s ability to protect and recover its intellectual assets in the event of a cyber-attack.
