On April 18th the RFP window for the 2025-2027 grant program closed. In the weeks prior to the deadline county staff worked with local agencies to assist with their proposals to ensure that those who reached out were able to submit a quality proposal. A total of 63 proposals were received prior to the deadline. All 63 will be forwarded to the review panel for consideration. A total of $5,687,404 was requested. There is $2,734,828 available for the 2025-2027 grant cycle.
At a special meeting on 4/29/25 the LMHAC approved the creation of a Grant Review Panel as created by this committee on 4/14/25. The review panel will meet to review and score all proposals. They will provide a report to the full Los Medanos Health Advisory Committee. The LMHAC will then provide an advisory report to this committee for approval.
County staff noted that there could be a concern about the procedures of creating a review panel. Information has been requested from the County Administrators Office to determine if this change is material and must be approved by the full Board of Supervisors. County staff has also requested that the Board of Supervisors delegate final approval of the Grantees to this committee rather than go to the full Board. This will save time and increase efficiency. This will impact the overall timeline. Health Department staff will provide the updated timeline to this committee as soon as items are confirmed with County staff.
