RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #72-221 with Metropolitan Van and Storage Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $800,000, to provide moving services, furniture staging and equipment storage furniture and equipment storage for the Public Health Division for the period April 1, 2024 through March 31, 2027.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $800,000 over a three-year period and will be funded 12.5% ($100,000) by American Rescue Plan Act, 10% ($80,000) by Public Health Emergency Preparedness-Cities Readiness Initiative (PHEP-CRI) Fund, 25% ($200,000) Future of Public Health (FOPH) Fund, and 52.5% ($420,000) County General Fund. The County General Fund amount is included in the budgeted ongoing Hospital Enterprise Fund subsidy.

BACKGROUND:
County Public Health Department utilized Metropolitan Van and Storage Inc. during the COVID-19 Public Health emergency and maintains 1700 square feet in contractor's warehouse to store COVID antigen test kits. Contractor was chosen by the Division because of their proven track record within county as they can store large quantities of emergency supplies and provide access to Public Health staff upon request. This contractor is dedicated to cycle counting and staging supplies for next day delivery services to any part of the county and provides chain of custody and proof of delivery documentation. Two other moving services companies were reviewed and neither provided the flexibility nor could they meet the chosen contractor's rates.
