BACKGROUND:

The CCCFPD Advisory Fire Commission was originally established by Resolution No. 99/138 by the authority of California Health and Safety Code Section 13844. The functions of the Advisory Fire Commission, revised by Resolution No. 2022/9, are to (1) serve as the Appeals Board on weed abatement matters; (2) review and make recommendations on Fire District goals and objectives; (3) provide advice and information to the Board of Directors on fire protection matters as needed; (4) serve as liaison between the Board of Directors and the community served by the District; and (5) perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and directed by the Board of Directors. The bylaws of the Commission provide that the Board of Supervisors appoints the District Seat. The term of the seat expires on June 30, 2028.

Mr. DiPrisco tendered his resignation from the Advisory Fire Commission, effective June 30, 2026.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The seat would not be declared vacant, which would hinder recruitment to fill the position and could make it difficult to achieve a quorum when seated members are absent.
