Report Title: APPOINTMENT AND VACANCY ON THE MEASURE X COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD

RECOMMENDATIONS:
ACCEPT the resignation of Nishi Moonka from the District II Alternate seat on the Measure X Community Advisory Board (MXCAB), APPOINT Nishi Moonka to the District II Seat 2 on the MXCAB for a term ending March 31, 2027, DECLARE a vacancy in the District II Alternate seat on the MXCAB for a term ending March 31, 2027, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by Supervisor Candace Andersen.

BACKGROUND:
Voters passed Measure X, a one-half cent sales tax levied countywide (exempting food sales), in November 2020. Collection of the sales tax began April 1, 2021 and were available for distribution in FY 2021-22. The Board of Supervisors approved the creation of a 17-member Community Advisory Board to recommend funding priorities of annual revenue received under Measure X funds.
Supervisor Andersen is advertising the vacancy, Ms. Moonka has been an active member of MXCAB since her appointment, and Supervisor Andersen would like her to continue her service in the regular seat.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Regular Seat will remain vacant.
