RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26267 to establish the classification of Chief of Administrative Services I - Exempt (APD6) at salary plan and grade B85 1017 ($10,073.00 - $12,243.80) and re-title the Chief of Administrative Services - Exempt (APD4) classification to Chief of Administrative Services II - Exempt at salary plan and grade B85 1018 ($12,855.98 - $14,173.72), as recommended by the Human Resources Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact for the re-title. Incumbent employees will remain at their current salary. As additional employees are added to the new Chief of Administrative Services I - Exempt classification, the fiscal impact will be evaluated and submitted for approval.

BACKGROUND:
Currently there are several administrative job classifications within the County that perform work functions within personnel, fiscal, and departmental operations. These classifications differ in title and pay, but have similarities within levels of complexity, authority, and scope. Consolidation of these classifications into the Chief of Administrative Services I - Exempt and Chief of Administrative Services II - Exempt will allow appropriate differentiation in levels of responsibility and authority to reflect the needs in the respective departments as well as aligning the salary structure of the positions across County departments.
Incumbents in the existing Chief of Administrative Services - Exempt will be re-titled to Chief of Administrative Services II - Exempt and remain at their current rate of pay. The new salary plan and grade for Chief of Administra...
