Report Title: Correct Staff Report #23-3132 with Autel New Energy US Inc.
Recommendation: Recommendation of the County Administrator
RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE clarification of Board action of July 14, 2026, (26-3132) with Autel New Energy US Inc., to correct the funding sources, with no change in the payment limit of $500,000 for the procurement of EV charger hardware and software.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Expenditures are not to exceed $500,000. The cost will be funded 100% by Measure X Sustainability Fund.
BACKGROUND:
The previously requested blanket purchase order allows Public Works to purchase EV charger hardware (and integrated software) as needed to support current and planned fleet charging projects at County facilities. The chargers will be installed to facilitate the charging of County fleet electric vehicles and support implementation of the County’s Zero Emission Vehicle transition goals.
On July 14, 2026, the Board of Supervisors approved this staff report # 26-3132 with Autel New Energy US Inc. in an amount not to exceed $500,000 however, the funding component was not accurate, therefore, this new staff report is to clarify the appropriate funding sources.
The purpose of this staff report is to clarify the error from the previous staff report where the appropriate funding source was not represented.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, Public Works may be unable to purchase compatible EV charger hardware and software needed for planned fleet charging projects. This could delay the installation of charging infrastructure, create operational challenges for the County’s fleet electrification efforts, and affect departments that rely on timely deployment of chargers to support the transition to zero-emission vehicles.
