FISCAL IMPACT:

$700,002: Funded by 100% Measure X Funds; of which $350,001 is budgeted in FY 24-25 and $350,001 will be budgeted in FY 25-26.

BACKGROUND:

On November 3, 2020, Contra Costa County voters approved Measure X, a countywide 20-year half cent sales tax with the intent to keep Contra Costa’s regional hospital open and staffed; fund community health centers, emergency response; support crucial safety-net services; invest in early childhood services; and protect vulnerable populations. Title IIIC-2 Home Delivered Meals Program serves vulnerable Contra Costa residents aged 60 or older who are homebound, disabled, or isolated by providing nutritious home delivered meals. Under this Contract, a total of 84,420 meals will be provided.

CHILDREN’S IMPACT STATEMENT:

This contract supports the fourth community outcome of Contra Costa County’s  Children’s Report Card: Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Should the proposed action not be approved by the Board of Supervisors, fewer older adults will receive nutritious home delivered meals.
