RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Fire Chief, or designee, to execute an amendment of the Interagency Agreement #23-367-16 with Contra Costa County Health Services, to increase the payment limit by $1,928,544 to a new payment limit of $7,304,913 and extend the term through June 30, 2027, for additional paramedic emergency medical first responder services in coordination with the Contra Costa County Emergency Medical System.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% CCCFPD General Operating Fund.
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa County Health Services and the Fire District entered into Interagency Agreement #23-367-15 for the distribution of Service Area EM-1 "Measure H" funds to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District for the provision of paramedic emergency medical first responder services in coordination with the Contra Costa County Emergency Medical System. The Agreement provides Measure H funding to support enhanced emergency medical response capabilities, including staffing, training, equipment, and operational support necessary to maintain high-quality prehospital emergency medical services throughout the District.
Contra Costa County Health Services has provided an amendment and extension # 23-367-16 to the Agreement to continue these services through June 30, 2027, and increase the total compensation by $1,928,544, for a revised contract amount not to exceed $7,304,913. Approval of this amendment will allow the District to continue receiving Measure H funding to support ongoing paramedic emergency medical first responder services and maintain coordination with the County's Emergency Medical System.
