RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

DENY claims filed by Sammantha Arias; Marta Barany; Suzanne Besag; Kristina Ann Brown 2; Joseph E. Castillo Jr.; Ross Farca (2); Carla Gibson; Frank Nejat; and Christopher Owens. DENY late claims filed by A.Y. a minor, W.Y. a minor, and the Estate of their minor sibling, O.Y.; and W.Y. a minor child.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

No fiscal impact.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

Sammantha Arias: Medical malpractice claim in the amount of $100,000.

Marta Barany: Wrongful death claim for failure to protect decedent in an amount to exceed $100,000,000.

Suzanne Besag: Civil rights claim related to excessive force, illegal search and seizure in an amount to be determined.

Kristina Ann Brown 2: Personal injury claim related to dangerous condition in the amount of $2,000,000.

Joseph E. Castillo Jr.: Property claim for damage to vehicle in the amount of $6,111.30.

Ross Farca (1): Personal injury claim related to jail conditions in the amount of $12,500.

Ross Farca (2): Property claim related to destroyed personal property in the amount of $12,500.

Carla Gibson: Property claim for damage to property in an undisclosed amount.

Frank Nejat: Property claim for damage to vehicle in the amount of $397.49.

Christopher Owens: Personal injury claim related to inmate attack in the amount of $250,000.

 

A.Y. a minor, W.Y. a minor and the Estate of their minor sibling, O.Y.: Application to file late claim related to wrongful death of O.Y.
