RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Cancellation Agreement #76-580-11 with James Pak MD Incorporated, a professional corporation, to cancel Contract #76-580-10, for the provision of anesthesiology services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers, effective at the end of business on April 30, 2024.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This contract was funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.
BACKGROUND:
Due to limited number of specialty providers available within the community, CCRMC and Health Centers rely on contracts to provide necessary specialty health services to their patients. This contractor has been providing anesthesiology specialty services, including but not limited to: clinic coverage, consultation, training, medical procedures, and on-call coverage services since May 2017. This contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000; Health and Safety Code ? 1451. Health Services Personnel approved this contract to ensure no conflicts with labor relations. Per Administrative Bulletin 600.3 CCRMC Physician services are exempt from solicitation requirements.
On February 22, 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-580-10 with James Pak MD Incorporated, in an amount not to exceed $780,000, for the provision of anesthesiology services for CCRMC and health centers, for the period March 1, 2022 through February 28, 2025.
In consideration of this contractor's agreement to continue providing services under a new contract in an amount not to exceed $200,000, both parties have agreed to re-negotiate the contract payment terms. Therefore, in ...
