RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26641 to cancel one (1) Administrative Services Assistant III (APTA) (represented) position #20654 at salary plan and grade ZB5 1631 ($8,529 - $10,367) and one (1) Child Nutrition Assistant-Project (98W4) (represented) position #12165 at salary plan and grade QH5 0295 ($3,899– $4,739) and add one (1) EHS Deputy Bureau Director-Exempt (XAD2) (unrepresented) position at salary plan and grade B85 2044 ($12,842 - $15,610) in the Employment and Human Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this item will result in a cost increase of up to $8,136 annually and a cost increase of up to $7,459 for FY 26-27, and will be funded by 36% Federal and 64% State funds.

BACKGROUND:
The Employment and Human Services (EHS) Department is requesting to add one EHS Deputy Bureau Director-Exempt position to support operational efficiency, oversight, and service delivery within the Community Services Bureau (CSB). Adding this position will bridge the gap between strategic planning and daily execution. The Deputy Director will report to the Community Services Director and be responsible for providing leadership for programs including Head Start.


CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Should the proposed action not be approved, CSB will not have the appropriate leadership positions for effective service delivery.
