RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chief Information Officer, or designee, to execute a contract amendment for contract number 4932100 with AT&T Enterprises, LLC. utilizing the California Department of Technology Agreement with AT&T Enterprises, LLC. for network engineer support services to increase the payment limit by $3,200,000 to a new payment limit of $9,200,000 and to extend the term through June 30, 2026.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The cost for this contract is withing the Department of Information Technology's budget for FY 25-26. (100% User Departments).

BACKGROUND:

An integral unit within the Department of Information Technology is the Wide Area Network (WAN) group, which functions as the foundational infrastructure through which all County IT systems are accessed by employees. Several years ago, the department capitalized on the opportunity to utilize the California Department of Technology's CALNET contract with AT&T to benefit from their extensive expertise in WAN services. This partnership provided the County with access to a team of highly skilled professionals offering continuous, 24/7 monitoring and support, thereby ensuring prompt resolution of network issues and uninterrupted service for critical public safety operations.

The managed WAN services delivered by AT&T under the State of California's pre-competed CALNET contract have consistently met the County's operational needs and performance expectations. Accordingly, the department seeks to extend the use of this contract-available to all local governmental entities in California-for an additional year.
