RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the County Unpaid Student Training Agreement #72-297 with Walden University, LLC, a limited liability company, for Contractor's public health nursing students to receive supervised field instruction experience from County for the period May 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029.

FISCAL IMPACT:
None. This is a non-financial agreement.

BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this agreement is to provide Contractor's nursing students with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with applied skills at progressively higher levels of performance and responsibility. Supervised fieldwork experience for nursing students is considered to be an integral part of both educational and professional preparation. The Health Services Department can provide the requisite field education, while at the same time, taking advantage of the students' services to patients. Contractor's nursing students participating in a public preceptorship would be partnered with appropriate public health staff. Nursing students projects, observational experiences and program support activities would have student objectives that would provide a benefit to the public health community. Projects or program support activities the student could be involved in include, but are not limited to, the following: Prehospital Quality Improvement, Prehospital Education and Training, Community Education and Outreach, Prehospital Systems of Care, e.g. Stroke, ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction, Trauma, Cardiac Arrest, and Infection Control.
