RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Librarian to close the Walnut Creek Library to the public at 3:00 p.m. instead of the regular close time of 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, to host the annual fundraising event, as requested by the Walnut Creek Library Foundation.

BACKGROUND:
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the Walnut Creek Library Foundation (WCLF) will host its annual Author’s Gala fundraising event. The County Librarian is requesting approval to close the Walnut Creek Library early to the public at 3:00 p.m. instead of the regular close time of 5:00 p.m. to provide the WCLF time to ready the library for the event.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Should the recommendation not be approved, the Walnut Creek Library will not close early to the public, making it difficult to ready the library for the event.
