Referral History:
Phoenix Armenta, San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission Senior Manager for Climate Equity and Community Engagement provided a presentation on the Contra Costa County Shoreline Leadership Academy to the Contra Costa Resilient Shoreline Committee on June 13, 2024. The Contra Costa Shoreline Leadership Academy is an opportunity to build capacity in the communities along the County's shoreline by offering a six-month long training and planning process to participants focused on learning about the shoreline, climate change and sea level rise. The Contra Costa County Shoreline Leadership Academy curriculum is based on San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission's One Bay Vision with the curriculum tailored to fit the local context.

Referral Update:
Since the Contra Costa County Shoreline Leadership was first presented to the Contra Costa Resilient Shoreline Committee, The Watershed Project and Contra Costa Resource Conservation District have been brought onto the project team. The project team consists of staff from the Contra Costa County Department of Conservation and Development, San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission, Delta Stewardship Council, The Watershed Project, Contra Costa Resource Conservation District, and Exploratorium.
