RECOMMENDATIONS:
RESCIND Traffic Resolution No. 1996/3725, and ADOPT Traffic Resolution No. 2024/4536 to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking between 6:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (except on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) except for those vehicles exhibiting a permit, on the east side of Green Valley Road (Road No. 4933), Alamo, beginning at a point 70 feet north of the center line of Stone Valley Road (Road No. 4331A) and extending northerly a distance of 1300 feet, as recommended by the Public Works Director, Alamo area. (District II)

FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:
The Transportation Engineering Division was contacted by nine residents that reside on the east side of Green Valley Road north of Stone Valley Road. They are requesting a change to the already restricted timed parking and permit excepted Traffic Resolution that was approved by the Board of Supervisors on March 7, 1996. Students have later start times from nearby Monte Vista High School and have been parking in front of the nine residences, outside the current 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. restricted hours. This action makes it difficult for homeowners to exit their driveways along with littering of garbage from the students on both public and private property.
The Transportation Engineering Division recommends that restricted parking signs be erected indicating "No Parking 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Sat, Sun, & Holidays Excepted)" in addition, a "Permits Excepted" sign.
This Board of Supervisors action will also rescind Traffic Resolution No. 1996/3725, pertaining to permitted timed restricted parking on Green Valley Road.
