Report Title: Agreements for Multiple Polling Sites for the March 5, 2024 Primary Election and November 5, 2024 General Election
RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE the Clerk-Recorder, or designee, to execute contracts with the following agencies, at no cost, to host voting locations for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election and the November 5, 2024 Presidential General Election:
* City of Hercules for the Hercules Community Center Resource Room;
* Acalanes Union High School District for the Acalanes High School Theater Lobby and the Las Lomas High School Theater Lobby;
* City of San Ramon for the Amador Rancho Community Center and the Community Center at Central Park.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
The Elections Division of the Clerk-Recorder's office will provide 153 polling places throughout the County for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election and the November 5, 2024 Presidential General Election. Sites that will be utilized include the Hercules Community Center, the Acalanes High School Theater Lobby, the Las Lomas High School Theater Lobby, the Amador Rancho Community Center, and the Community Center at Central Park in San Ramon.
The Facility Rental Agreement and Use Agreement for these sites contains an indemnification and hold harmless provision, whereby the County agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the contractors for use of their sites as a voting locations. For election day voting, the agreement provides the County with use of these sites on March 5, 2024 and November 5, 2024.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Elections Office will not be able to use the sites as a voting locations.
