DENY claims filed by Mrs. Collignon; Mayra Contreas, Jazmin L. Machado and Minor, GLG; Daniel Corkum (2); Megan McGarry; San Ramon Regional Medical Center for Z. Banuelos; and Brianna Schapiro (2). DENY amended claim filed by Ben Tappe.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

No fiscal impact.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

Mrs. Collignon: Personal injury claim for a trip and fall in the amount of $5,000,000.

Mayra Contreas; Jazmin L. Machado & minor, GLG: Personal injury claim related to vehicle accident in the amount of $400,000.

Daniel Corkum (2): Personal injury claim related to Amtrak accident in an amount exceeding $35,000.

Megan McGarry: Civil rights claim related to mishandling of child-abuse investigation in an amount to exceed $25,000.

San Ramon Regional Medical Center for Z. Banuelos: Claim for underpayment of bill by Contra Costa Health Plan in the amount of $201,333,80.

Brianna Schapiro (2): Personal injury claim related to dangerous condition on school grounds in an amount to exceed $1,250,000.

Ben Tappe: Amended property claim for damage to fence and gate in the amount of $5,100.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

Not acting on the claims could extend the claimants’ time limits to file actions against the County.
