Report Title: Purchase Order with Computacenter

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Director of Child Support Services, a purchase order with Computacenter United States Inc. in an amount not to exceed $116,027 to purchase Dell storage area network and switches to replace current equipment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This project will be fully funded by allocations from the Federal government at 66% and State of California at 34%.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Child Support Services is purchasing a Dell storage area network (SAN) and two new switches to replace existing SAN and switches that have reached end-of-life. These capabilities are required to improve performance and reliability for virtualization workloads and ensure continued supportability and operational continuity.
This one-time equipment purchase is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in Dell’s Customer Purchase Agreement for Products and Services dated February 14, 2017, between Dell Marketing L.P. and Contra Costa County and the Master Products and Services Agreement dated November 14, 2023, between Computacenter United States Inc. and Contra Costa County.
The standard terms and conditions of sale contain a limitation of liability and indemnification from the County to Computacenter United States Inc.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The existing infrastructure is reaching end-of-life. Failure to approve this purchase order would put the Department of Child Support Services at risk for not meeting standards for performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
