RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a Consulting Services Agreement with Ghirardelli Associates, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000, to provide on-call project management consulting services for the period October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2029, Countywide. BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department is involved in various projects in the County, which require project management consulting services for capital improvement projects. After a solicitation process, Ghirardelli Associates, Inc. was one of four firms selected to provide on-call project management consulting services. Services may include project planning, review and use of designs, bidding, and managing the construction of green infrastructures, capital facilities, and major building remodels, repair projects and landscape or park renovations. Project management may require the direction of consultants, such as construction managers, architects, landscape architects, engineers, environmental consultants, general contractors, and others involved, such as other County staff/departments. Finally, Contractor will act as a liaison and technical expert to County staff on capital projects. The consultant will be involved in projects primarily for areas within the Countywide Landscaping District (LL-2), County Service Areas (CSAs) and County Facilities Districts (CFDs).
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the Consulting Services Agreement is not approved, necessary capital projects may not be completed in a timely manner, which may jeopardize funding and delay design...
