RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute two individual contracts with the following contractors: Commercial Glass & Aluminum Inc. and U.S. Glass & Aluminum, Inc of Nevada, in an amount not to exceed $300,000 each, to provide on-call glass repair and replacement services at various County sites and facilities, for the period of January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2027, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Facilities Maintenance Budget. (100% General Fund)

BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department, Facilities Services is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all County buildings and facilities. Government Code Section 25358 authorizes the County to contract for maintenance and upkeep of County facilities. Based on current Facilities Services staffing, contracts for glass repair and replacement services are being requested to meet emergency, unanticipated, or specialized maintenance service requests.

Work completed under these contracts will consist of glass repair and/or replacement, glazing, and caulking services of County windows, glass doors, storefront assemblies, glass barriers, and other glass fixtures at various County sites and facilities.

Originally bid on BidSync #2405-802, Commercial Glass & Aluminum Inc. and U.S. Glass & Aluminum, Inc of Nevada, were two of three contractors awarded for these services. Each contract will have a term of three (3) years with the option of two (2) one-year extensions or one (1) two-year extension, not to exceed five (5) years total. The contract payment limit will be $300,000 for each contract.
