RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment, effective November 1, 2025, with Family Caregiver Alliance to increase the payment limit by $24,275 to a new amount not to exceed $338,346 for additional caregiver services for eligible clients, with no change to the term July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

100% Federal all of which is budgeted in FY 25-26.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

On August 5, 2025, the Board approved (C.33) a contract with Family Caregiver Alliance for the Older Americans Act Title III-E Family Caregiver Support Program for the term July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. The contract was procured via Request for Proposal (RFP) 1198 which followed the protocol outlined in Administrative Bulletin 600.3.  This amendment is to apply one-time-only funding from the California Department of Aging for additional services with no change to the term.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

Should the proposed action not be approved by the Board of Supervisors, the County will not be able to continue to provide family caregivers with the additional support needed for the continued provision of caregiving in the home to the older adult in their care.

 

CHILDREN’S IMPACT STATEMENT:

 

This contract supports one (1) of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes of the Children’s Report Card: (4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing."
