RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a Consulting Services Agreement (contract) amendment with Wood Rodgers, Inc., effective January 1, 2025, to increase the payment limit by $400,000 to a new payment limit of $1,200,000 for on-call structural engineering services, and to extend the term from August 16, 2025, to March 31, 2027, Countywide. (County Project No.: Various)(All Districts )
FISCAL IMPACT:
Work performed under this amendment is funded by developer fees, local, state and federal funds for local road, flood control, and airport projects. (100% Various Funds)
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department is involved in various projects in the County that require structural engineering services for roads, flood control, and airport projects. Wood Rodgers, Inc. is one of eight firms contracted to provide structural engineering services on an "on-call" basis. The consultant may augment Public Works staff on an as-needed basis. They may be used as an extension of Public Works staff during busy times when extra help is needed or when in-house expertise is not available.
On August 16, 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved an initial contract with Wood Rodgers, Inc. in the amount of $800,000 for structural engineering services for the Public Works Department. The term of the agreement expires on August 16, 2025.
This Amendment will increase the payment limit to $1,200,000, and extend the contract term from August 16, 2025, to March 31, 2027, which is necessary for the continuation of on-call structural engineering services through the completion of the following projects: Wildcat Canyon Slide Repair, Highland Road Storm Damage Repair and Norris Canyon Road ...
