RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

RECEIVE Civil Grand Jury Report No. 2404, entitled " County Petroleum Refineries and Hazardous Material Releases: Improving the Hazmat Response " (attached), and REFER to the County Administrator, the Health Services Director and the Sheriff-Coroner for response.

No fiscal impact.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

On June 11, 2024, the 2023-24 Contra Costa County Civil Grand Jury filed the above referenced report. Per standard procedures, this action alerts the Board of Supervisors that the report has been received and directs the appropriate staff to review the report, provide the Board of Supervisors with an appropriate response, and forward the Sheriff-Coroner's response to the Superior Court no later than August 10, 2024 (60 days) and the Board of Supervisors's response no later September 9, 2024 (90 days).

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

There is no immediate consequence.
