Report Title: Purchase Order with Bentley Systems Incorporated for Microstation software.
?Recommendation of the County Administrator ? Recommendation of Board Committee
RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a Select Program Agreement and a purchase order with Bentley Systems Incorporated in an amount not exceed $2,229 for MicroStation software for the period June 21, 2024 through June 20, 2025, Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:

BACKGROUND:
Renewing Bentley MicroStation software ensures that the Public Works Department has continued access to critical features, updates, and support that enhance design accuracy, project efficiency, and interoperability in CAD workflows. MicroStation's advanced 2D and 3D modeling capabilities, along with ongoing security patches and performance improvements, are crucial for keeping projects on schedule and reducing downtime. Additionally, staying current with the latest version enables compatibility with emerging technology and industry standards, ensuring that the Department is equipped with cutting-edge tools for infrastructure, architecture, and engineering projects.
The Select Program Agreement has been reviewed by County Counsel and requires Board approval because it includes indemnification and limitation of liability language.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failing to renew Bentley MicroStation software can lead to several challenges, including loss of access to essential updates, technical support, and security patches, which may leave projects vulnerable to security risks and software glitches. Without renewals, Public Works employees will miss out on new features and performance improvements, potentially lowering productivity and making it harder to meet evolving industry standards.
