IN THE MATTER OF honoring Mike Quesada, Assistant Fire Chief, upon his retirement from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District after 22 years of service with Contra Costa County,

WHEREAS, Mike Quesada began his service with Contra Costa County as a Firefighter-Recruit on January 14, 2002; and

WHEREAS, Mike Quesada was promoted to Firefighter-Paramedic on April 23, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Mike Quesada was promoted to Fire Engineer on June 16, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Mike Quesada was promoted to Fire Captain on April 11, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Mike Quesada was promoted to Battalion Chief on April 1, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Mike Quesada was appointed as interim Assistant Fire Chief on June 10, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Mike Quesada was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief on December 1, 2019; and

WHEREAS, throughout his time with the Fire District, Chief Mike Quesada provided mentorship to new and aspiring firefighters; assisted in the organization's promotional process for 10 years; provided education and training by participating in the Fire District's first Engineer Academy; and participated as a member of the initial live fire burn cadre; and

WHEREAS, during his tenure as a senior-level Chief Officer, Chief Mike Quesada demonstrated leadership and perseverance by leading the Support Services Division during the COVID-19 pandemic, working through challenging supply chain issues to procure the necessary personal ...
