RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Resolution approving and authorizing the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close a portion of Valley Lane, between Elmwood Road and Canyon Road, and Valley Lane, between Canyon Road and the dead end, on September 21, 2026, through October 9, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., for the purpose of performing maintenance on underground utility infrastructure, El Sobrante area. (District I)

FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:
Due to the narrow road width of Valley Lane at the work site, Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) has requested the road closure to perform maintenance on underground utility infrastructure. The closure is required to safely perform the ground bed replacement and install the new 91-foot deep well anode, work that involves excavation, drilling, and heavy equipment in the immediate area. Applicant shall follow guidelines set forth by the Public Works Department.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Applicant will be unable to close the road to complete planned work.
