Report Title: Contract amendment # 40-493-3 Meals on Wheels Diablo Region for Title III C Senior Nutrition Program (AAS)

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Meals on Wheels Diablo Region, a nonprofit agency, to increase the payment limit by up to $100,328 for a new payment limit not to exceed $1,728,754 to deliver additional services under the Older Americans Act Title III C Senior Nutrition Program with no change to term July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$100,328: 100% Federal funding all of which is budgeted in FY 24-25.
BACKGROUND:
On July 23, 2024, the Board approved staff report #24-2202 (C.34) authorizing a contract with Meals on Wheels Diablo Region (Contractor) in an amount not to exceed $1,628,426 for the Older Americans Act Title III C Senior Nutrition Program. This staff report is to amend the contract to provide additional funds in the amount of $100,328, wherein the Contractor will provide additional congregate meals and can purchase supplies and equipment in support of the service provision, with no change to the term.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Should the proposed action not be approved by the Board of Supervisors, Meals on Wheels Diablo Region will not be able to increase much needed Senior Nutrition services for older adults in Contra Costa County.

This contract supports the fourth of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes of the Children’s Report Card, "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing.”
