Report Title:                     Lease of Office Space at 2255 Contra Costa Boulevard in Pleasant Hill for the District IV Supervisor

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a lease amendment with 2255 Contra Costa Boulevard Associates, a California Limited Partnership, to extend the lease term for approximately 2,678 square feet of office space used by the District IV Supervisor at 2255 Contra Costa Boulevard, Suite 202, in Pleasant Hill from August 31, 2027 to August 31, 2031, with two additional four-year renewal options, at an annual rent of approximately $99,768.00 starting September 1, 2026, with annual increases thereafter.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The lease will obligate the County to pay rent of approximately $951,340.00 for the initial term of the lease. (100% General Fund)

BACKGROUND:

The District IV Supervisor and staff have been based in this office since 2023. Extending the current lease term will enable District IV to expand its workforce and will allow the lessor to undertake new office improvements designed to accommodate additional personnel.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the lease is not approved, District IV personnel will be unable to proceed with constructing improvements necessary for additional staffing.
