Report Title: Approval to Accept a Monetary Donation for the Office of the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue
Recommendation: Recommendation of the County Administrator
RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to accept a monetary donation in the amount of $15,850 from an anonymous donor for the benefit of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue (SAR) to support operations.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with accepting this donation.
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa County Search and Rescue received a donation check in the amount of $15,850 through AGFinancial. The check memo identifies the contribution as “Charitable Distribution, Undesignated Gift.” The Sheriff’s Office intends on using this donation for equipment to support mission operations.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the board does not approve this action, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team will be unable to accept the donation and use the funds to purchase needed equipment in support of the mission.
