RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Clerk-Recorder, or designee, to execute a contract with the California Secretary of State to pay the County an amount not to exceed $85,077 to serve voters with disabilities and to increase accessibility under the Help America Vote Act for the period of January 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

100% Federal funds. No County matching funds are required.

 

BACKGROUND:

The contract will secure the use of funding offered by the Secretary of State for the purpose of improvement of the administration of elections to serve voters with disabilities and other specific needs.

 

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

The County will lose this funding with an approved contract with the California Secretary of State.
