RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Interagency Agreement #28-331-9 with Antioch Unified School District (AUSD), a government agency, to pay County an amount not to exceed $330,000, to provide mental health services to students referred to the AUSD's Helping Open Pathways to Education (HOPE) program, for the period from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Interagency Agreement will result in payment to the County not to exceed $330,000 for FY 2024/2025.
BACKGROUND:
This Interagency Agreement allows AUSD to provide funding for County to provide mental health services to special education students who are residing in local and out-of-state residential facilities and students who receive outpatient services in the schools and county-operated clinics, through Community Based Organizations that have contracts with County for professional mental health services. AUSD has provided funding since January 1, 2011. This Agreement is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000.
On June 13, 2023, the Board of Supervisors approved Interagency Agreement #28-331-8 with AUSD to pay County an amount not to exceed $330,000, for the provision of mental health and crisis intervention services to students referred to the AUSD's HOPE program, for the period July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
Approval of Interagency Agreement #28-331-9 will allow County to continue to receive funding from AUSD through June 30, 2025.
