RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Health Services Director, a one-time purchase order with Elevate Healthcare, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $3,911 and ACCEPT their Healthcare Education Products General Terms and Conditions (HEPGTC) and End User License Agreement for the purchase of a Gen II Central Line Ultrasound Training Model for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC).
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this action will result in a one-time expenditure of up to $3,911 and will be funded by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.
BACKGROUND:
Elevate Healthcare, Inc. provides specialized services, products, or solutions within the healthcare industry. The Gen II Central Line Ultrasound Training Model by Elevate Healthcare, Inc. is a high-fidelity simulation tool designed to help healthcare professionals practice both ultrasound-guided and traditional blind insertion techniques for central line placements. It features technology to mimic the vascular anatomy of the upper thorax and neck, provides imaging and tactile feedback, can be used for training in central venous catheterization, and is compatible with other ultrasound systems.
The Healthcare Education Products General Terms and Conditions limit Elevate Healthcare, Inc.'s liability to the total value paid by the County. Additionally the terms and conditions require the County to indemnify Elevate Healthcare, Inc. from any claims. Approval of this request will allow Elevate Healthcare, Inc. to provide the Gen II central line ultrasound to proactively ensure that training programs continue with minimal disruption, even if adjustments are needed.
