RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Resolution approving and authorizing the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close a portion of Central Avenue between Valley Avenue and Irene Drive, a portion of Rita Drive between Donna Drive and Michelle Drive, a portion of Irene Drive between Michele Drive and Central Avenue, and all of Jane Court, on December 17, 2025 through May 30, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., for the purpose of installing a water main for Contra Costa Water District, Vine Hill area. (District V)

FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:
KJ Woods Construction has requested to partially close a portion several roads in the Vine Hill neighborhood to through traffic for the purpose of installing approximately 1 mile of water main, service transfers, hydrants and connections for a Contra Costa Water District Project. The closure will be during working hours only and the applicant will always allow local and emergency traffic through the site. Any open excavations will be covered with traffic rated steel plates during non-working hours and the road reopened to through traffic. The applicant shall follow the guidelines set forth by the Public Works Department.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Applicant will be unable to close the road to complete their water main replacement project.
