RECOMMENDATIONS:
RESCIND Board action of May 23, 2023 (C.47), which pertained to a contract with Bakersfield Rehabilitation Hospital, LLC, and APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute Contract #77-521 with Bakersfield Rehabilitation Hospital, LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $500,000 for the provision of inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) services for Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members for the period February 1, 2024 through January 31, 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this contract will result in annual contractual service expenditures of up to $500,000 and will be funded 100% by CCHP Enterprise Fund II.

BACKGROUND:
CCHP has an obligation to provide certain specialized IRF services including nutritional and physical therapies, case management and social services, pain management and end of life care for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the county. This contractor is joining the CCHP Provider Network effective February 1, 2024.

Bakersfield Rehabilitation Hospital, LLC, was selected to provide IRF services to Contra Costa Health Plan Medi-Cal and Commercial Members. CCHP's service area currently contains no IRF services and the selected provider has agreed to accept our contract terms and conditions. The medical professional services provided require specific certifications, licenses or DHCS and CMS regulatory approvals that this Contractor has.
