RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Resolution recognizing Eren Rosekind as the awardee for the 2026 Youth Hall of Fame, Rising Star: Good Samaritan Award

BACKGROUND:
Each year, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors honors a group of students as part of the Youth Hall of Fame Awards during the 32nd Annual Farmworkers' Rights Movement Celebration.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Eren Rosekind will not be recognized at the annual ceremony to honor a group of students as part of the Youth Hall of Fame Awards

In the matter of recognizing Eden Rosekind as the 2026 Youth Hall of Fame Awardee for Rising Star, Good Samaritan

WHEREAS, Eden Rosekind, a Homeschooled seventh grader, has exemplified the qualities of leadership, good samaritan, and commitment to youth empowerment during her time as a community leader; and

WHEREAS, Eden's involvement encompasses a broad spectrum of initiatives, including contributions at the RYSE Youth Center, volunteering at Contra Costa homelessness awareness events, assembling hygiene kits for unhoused individuals, and supporting brunches for young parents through Monument Impact; and

WHEREAS, Eden demonstrated her leadership by founding and leading a graphic novel group, "for kids, by kids," which encourages young readers to explore literary themes and express themselves. Her leadership in local libraries at the age of eight has enriched programs and cultivated a welcoming environment for youth; and

WHEREAS, regardless of location, Eden consistently gives back to every community she becomes part of, offering support for children and care for horses, and a genuine commitment to the diverse c...
