Report Title: Delta Valley Health Club Contract - Gym Memberships

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Acting as the governing board of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Fire Chief, or designee, to execute a contract with Delta Valley Health Club in an amount not to exceed $15,000 for gym memberships for the period July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted. 100% CCCFPD General Operating Fund.
BACKGROUND:
Fire Station 92 currently faces gym access challenges due to its smaller fitness facility and increased staffing levels resulting from structural modifications supporting two full crews in a space originally designed for one crew. To support operational effectiveness and promote firefighter fitness, the Fire District is establishing an agreement with Delta Valley Health Club to obtain gym memberships until the ladder truck company is relocated to the future Fire Station 90.
After evaluating local gym options, Delta Valley Health Club in Brentwood was identified as a suitable partner willing to meet County terms. The proposed arrangement includes four rotating daily memberships, alternating between engine and ladder truck crews, improving fitness access while maintaining readiness in a high-call volume area.
The value of the Delta Valley Health Club agreement falls below the $25,000 threshold requiring a sole source justification or additional quotes. This agreement represents the District's second contract with the vendor. Renewal of the agreement beyond its current term shall be contingent upon an evaluation of its cost-effectiveness, accessibility, and continued necessity
The agreement between CCCFPD and Delta Valley Health Club contains both limitation of liability and indemnification langue.
