RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #76-797-1 with Tiffany Howell, M.D., an individual, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to provide developmental pediatric physician services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers for the period from October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $300,000 over a three-year period and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
Due to the limited number of specialty providers available within the community, CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers rely on contractors to provide necessary specialty developmental pediatric physician services for its patients. CCRMC has contracted with Dr. Howell for developmental pediatric physician services since October 1, 2022. This contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000; Health and Safety Code ? 1451. Health Services Personnel approved this contract to ensure no conflicts with labor relations. Per Administrative Bulletin 600.3 CCRMC Physician services are exempt from Solicitation requirements.
In October 2022, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #76-797 with Tiffany Howell, M.D., in an amount not to exceed $100,000, for the provision of developmental pediatric physician services at CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers for the period from October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023.
