RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract Amendment Agreement #76-644-4 with Steris Corporation, a corporation, effective May 31, 2024, to amend Contract #76-644-2, to increase the payment limit by $104,000, from $644,992 to a new payment limit of $718,992 and extend termination date of May 31, 2024 to November 30, 2024 for additional repair and maintenance of sterilizers at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this amendment will result in additional annual expenditures of up to $104,000 and will be funded as budgeted by the department 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
The County contracts with Steris Corporation to repair and maintain equipment including cleaning the sterilizers in the CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers. The County has been using the Contractor's repair and maintenance services since June 1, 2019. This contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000. CCRMC's Quality Management, Utilization Management and Contract Monitor Staff meet on a regular basis to ensure monitoring and performance measures in the contract are upheld.
On March 23, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-644-2 with Steris Corporation, in an amount not to exceed $614,992, for the provision of repair and maintenance services on infection prevention equipment at CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers for the period June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2024.
